A blend of Nerello Mascalese from three contrada, Monte Dolce, Carrana and Barbabecchi, planted in volcanic sand between 900 and 1,000 metres on Mount Etna. Each site brings something different: Monte Dolce a mineral edge, Carrana power, Barbabecchi restraint. Fermented with wild yeast and aged in a mix of barrel and fibreglass. Bright and structured, with red cherry, dried herbs and a grippy, almost Barolo-like tannic backbone. Fine detail and real intensity, this rewards decanting or a few years in the cellar.
