The most structural wine in Sciara's altitude series, from two plots, Sciaranuova and Taccione, at 760 metres, where the soil carries more volcanic rock and coarser sand than the higher vineyards. Roughly 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Nerello Cappuccio, aged partly in oak and partly in fibreglass and steel. Bolder and flintier than its higher-altitude siblings, with cherry and raspberry fruit, a stony, waxy edge, and bright acidity carrying through to a fine red cherry finish. Good grip and depth, a wine that wants food.
