Rocciamadre Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG Superiore Brut - 2022
Rocciamadre, translating to 'mother rock' in Italian, is a Prosecco sourced from the vineyards of Marchiori, where the terroir imparts an extraordinary mineral character and perfectly enhances the wine's aromatic personality.
Marchiori, a small family business nestled in the picturesque hills of Valdobbiadene, is situated within the UNESCO Heritage site. On the steep slopes of these hills, the vineyards are planted with the original grape varieties used to craft Prosecco: Glera Tonda, Glera Lunga, Perera, Bianchetta, and Verdisio. Following the tradition of blending and co-fermenting these grapes together, each contributes its exclusive personality to the final wine.
A star-bright straw yellow hue with silver variations catches the eye. The nose reveals a powerful intensity featuring under-ripe white pear, pink grapefruit, and sage. On the palate, the wine is dry, presenting notes of orange juice, red apple, and finishing with a hint of toasted barley. The wines undergo fermentation using the tank method, also known as the Method Charmant.
