Profumo di Vulcano Etna Rosso DOC - 2022
Profumo di Vulcano begins its journey in a small vineyard dating back to the late 1800s on Mount Etna's northern slopes, 600 meters above sea level. This half-hectare haven in Feudo di Mezzo, near Castiglione di Sicilia, is shielded from strong sirocco winds, fostering longer grape maturation and flavor complexity.
The vines, averaging 100 years old, including Nerello Mascalese, Cappuccio, Alicante, Francisi, and white grape vines, create a vineyard-garden embodying Etna's essence.
Following spontaneous fermentation in open oak vats, the elixir matures for 24 months in tonneaux and an additional 6 months in the bottle. This meticulous process yields an intense ruby red wine. Raspberries, wild blueberries, and Mediterranean notes intertwine with sweet spices and a hint of tobacco. The palate is rich yet agile, with lively tannins leading to a complex, salty-sweet finish. Profumo di Vulcano is a testament to Etna's spirit captured in each sip.
