Ramici Ciliegiolo di Narni Umbria IGP - 2016
Ramici is a red wine based on Ciliegiolo from the oldest vines of the winery and represents the flagship wine of Bussoletti. It has a distinct personality and is very elegant without lacking complexity. The name Ciliegiolo (Italian for ‘small cherry’) comes from the cherry aroma of the berries. According to tradition, Ciliegiolo was introduced from Spain around 1870 by pilgrims coming back from Santiago de Compostela, which would justify its synonym Ciliegiolo di Spagna. The wines have an intense red color, aromas of cherries, strawberries, and spices; they may be juicy or fuller in body, occasionally lacking acidity, which is why they complement Sangiovese so well.
Bright ruby, medium concentration. Youthful profile with high intensity on the nose. Notes of fresh raspberry, blackberry, rhubarb, rose petal, light hints of coffee powder, and vanilla. Medium-bodied wine with well-integrated tannin. Long finish with notes of baking spices.
Fermentation occurs in stainless steel. The wine is aged in tonneau and big barrels for 24 months.
