 Riesling (Rhein Riesling) is one of the most ancient German varietals, very versatile into winemaking, suitable for all the different wine styles, reaching every corner of the globe, which reflects with precision the climate of the place where it is grown. Italy is never being famous for Riesling of course, but recent years have shown that this marriage could bring an interesting future! This grape finds the ideal sites (mainly in the north of Italy, south is too hot!) where shows its potential and adaptability, with a touch more mature aspect. 

Ca’ di Frara, founded by Giovanni Bellani in 1905, is located in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese DOC. Luca, the actual owner, great-grandnephew of Giovanni who bought few hectares more than 100 years ago, today exposed to the best climatic conditions to make excellent wines. The winery vineyards' are farmed in a natural method, with minimum intervention. Their mission is to respect the territory and the environment. The main grape varietals are Pinot Nero, Croatina, and Barbera for the reds, Riesling, and Pinot Grigio for the whites. In the last few years, the company has undertaken a path that leads towards high-level sustainability with packaging, water reuse, and renewable energy for the winery! 

Description:

The sight shows a light straw yellow color, with a brilliant greenish reflection. On the nose is pronounced, with aromas of white peach, banana, and melon. The palate, soft and persistent, with dominant aromas of white stone fruit and ripe exotic fruit due to the late harvesting.
In vinification, the wine is cold-pressed, with following long fermentation in controlled temperature in stainless steel vessels. This wine rests for 4 months in the cellars before release.
