Malvasia Istriana belongs to the big family of the different Malvasia varieties. Studies have found out that this grape has originated in the Peloponnese region, Greece. The sailors of the historical Venetian Republic have distributed along the Adriatic Coast arriving into Friuli Venezia Giulia from Istria Peninsula in Slovenia, hence the name.

Ivan Muzic, is been guiding the family company now for thirty years. His great passion for nature and his land makes him a free spirit born to live within his vineyard beside the weather or the season. Orieta, the wife, together with Elija and Fabian, the sons, have been supporting the father's passion both in the vineyards and in the cellar for years. The company holds 20 ha of planted vines and seems that there is no reason to stop growing. Their mission is first to respect three main objectives: growth, tradition, and environment. This love for nature, its fruits, and the environment let them obtain the MAGIS certification, which guarantees the full environmental sustainability of the wines.

Description:

The wine shows a light straw yellow color with green reflections. On the nose is a fresh, non-aromatic but fruity character while the palate is light, dry with pronounced refreshing acidity.
Vinification through de-stemming and crushing of the grapes following a maceration on the skin of 12 hours, at low temperature. Follows fermentation for 8-10 days and aging on "fine lees" with lees stirring for at least 3 months.
