Colle Murello is a white wine based on the Trebbiano Spoletino grape, from a top-site vineyard in San Gemini. Here the soil composition is based on clay and limestone helping the wine to achieve great body texture and minerality, thanks also to the low-yielding training system (½ kilo per plant). After the harvest, the grapes are fermented and aged in oak barrels of 15 hl for 6 months where careful lees stirring improves the depth of the final wine.
Leonardo Bussoletti is a winemaker from the city of Narni. Narni is a historical city located in the Umbria region, right in the heart of Italy. Bussoletti is focused on bringing on the winemaking tradition of the area. In his portfolio, we find wines made with varieties such as Grechetto and Trebbiano Spoletino for the whites, while the reds only from the Ciliegiolo, another autochthonous grape of the region. Leonardo is the pioneer in producing Ciliegiolo wines, traditionally also used in the production of Chianti, but Bussoletti having recognized the potential of this grape he decided instead to produce mono-varietal wines. Thanks to him, Ciliegiolo is now more known around the world.
The wine shows a clear and bright light golden colour. Youthful with a moderate intensity and notes of grapefruit, peach and tart pinapple. The palate has a rich texture with a rounded mouthfeel and a long dry-mineral finish.
