Rich and fruity wine made from Primitivo grapes. Primitivo is a world-famous grape-making delicious red wines in Puglia. This Primitivo comes from a higher altitude which gives a fresh acidity to the wine. Classic Primitivo from Puglia is often fleshy, jammy, and overripe on the palate. Chakra Rosso shows a totally different side of Primitivo, with a great balance and acidity, extended complexity, and length. Puglia, or Apulia for English speakers, is in the south of Italy, "down the heel of the boot", originally the place where Mattia comes from.
Giovanni Aiello is the chief of a little and young company growing fast. An "Artisan" of the wine believes that wine is not only a true expression of the land, but intervention and care in the winery are a must to make great wines. After he studied wines in Friuli and Veneto, he gained experience in the vineyards of California and Australia, before returning home to work in vineyards surrounded by the beautiful Apulian landscape. The vineyards are placed 300mt above sea level in a "channel" that draws fresh breeze from the sea, giving a unique microclimate suitable for the best red and white grapes.

Description:
The wine shows a deep purple color with a slight orange rim. Fruity, developed with aromas of ripe plums, red and blackberries, holding a mineral weight and richness given by the fermentation process. The extended ageing in tonneaux donates the wine a slight oxitative character with aromas of cedar, mushrooms, tobacco, cigar.
The grapes are carefully selected, gently pressed, and remain in contact with the skins for a few days. The malolactic fermentation takes place in barriques and tonneaux, second pass and third passage.
