Granaccia Beusi Superiore Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC - 2018
Granaccia, yes, the grape which its name recall the famous french Grenache or the spanish Garnacha. Farming this variety in Liguria region trace back to the 1829, where since then, it found the perfect spot onto the Ligurian hills. The grapes are selected from a single vineyard, 150mt above the sea level, calcareous-clay soil, with perfect sunlight exposure and diurnal range. The result is a wine with the ideal maturity, structure and complexity.
Podere Grecale is a relatively "young" winery, born 13 years ago from the desire of a father and a daughter to go back to their own origins after living a life away from their birthplace. Lino, the father, really wanted to taste the wine that his ancestors use to make. After the first few harvests they realised to have fallen in love with what they were doing. This passion, gave birth to Podere Grecale.
Intense ruby red colour, with purple undertones. On the nose mature red berry character, with confiture and balsamic notes. The palate shows a bright acidity, given the proximity to the sea, with a rich body and great tannic structure.
Long maceration, it ferments in controlled temperature and rest in old oak for 12 months. Another of 5 months in the bottle before release.
